India, Pakistan trade heavy fire in Jammu district

Jammu, July 20 (IANS): Heavy firing started early Monday between the Indian and Pakistani troopers along the line of control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region.

"Pakistan army resorted to heavy unprovoked firing at our positions in Shahpur sector of the LoC around midnight," a defence spokesman told IANS here.

"They are using small arms and automatic weapons to target our positions. Our troopers are effectively retaliating the firing," he added.

Intermittent firing exchanges were going on in the area when last reports came in.

On Saturday, five civilians were injured in the same area when Pakistan army resorted to indiscriminate, unprovoked firing.

    Consecutive governments promised the Indian people of solving the Kashmir problem. I had hopes that this "nationalist" government would do a little bit of something, than a lot of empty talk and a lot of nothing. It seems the 56 inch chest is now down to 5.6 millimeters. But wait for election time and it will swell like a balloon once again only to deflate after elections.

    My friends the long and short of this whole debacle is we cheer our leaders like elementary school children at a football match, but in reality who is ruling is just a name and for them "Phir Ullu Banaya Public Kho" and the plundering continues unabated.

    You could disagree, but tell me why?

    Recently, the U.S. has decided to upgrade the F-16 fighter planes for the Pakistan Air Force which is more advanced than any aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force.

    The U.S. was tilting towards India but in this new BJP administration, that speed of tilting is cooling down.

    all the fake people who criticize PM Modi should know the fact that only after Modi govt came to power our Army and BSF have started to retaliate strongly.
    Previous govt had a italian influence and our poor indian army was not allowed to retaliate. now the ul are talking about 56 inches chest.
    pakistani is a shameless, bankrupt country who is surviving coz of funds from china and US.

    Problem with Pakistan is their Military is autonomous and Nawaz Sharif don't have any control over military. Even if their Civil government and common people want good relationship with India, Pakistan Military, ISI & Terrorist will never allow them.

    Its really sad no value for humanity and all politically motivated and the innocent civilians are killed.     I think Modi is playing double role here. On one hand he is telling that India will teach lesson to Pak for their aggression and on the other hand he is planning to visit Pak. Modi is not understanding what to follow. He is telling the world that India is shining whereas Farmers are committing suicide on daily basis. Modi is busy in appeasing the returning gift received from the business goons whereas poors are suffering. Modi is busy is touring the world in gold made coats worthing millions of rupees whereas people are dying in india.

    paki saaibernakalena Eid mugind... now they are back to their old buddhi! what difference it will make..? they know only one thing.. destruction within their boundaried.. or at the borders.. bombs, guns.. they wont care if it is balochis, sindhis, kashmiris, jawans, enemey army, kids! they know how to kill... let them do it.. we will keep engaging them here in J&K border and see a breakthrough in balochistan area...! Modi's central asia visit was crucial for many reasons!...
