No mocking in 'The Ridiculous Six': Adam Sandler

Los Angeles, July 20 (IANS): Actor Adam Sandler says that his new movie "The Ridiculous Six" is not racist, and does not mock at American Indians.

"I talked to some of the actors on the set who were there and let them know that the intention of the movie is 100 percent to just make a funny movie," Sandler said.

"It's really about American Indians being good to my character and about their family and just being good people. There's no mocking of American Indians at all in the movie. It's a pro-Indian movie. So hopefully when people see it -- whoever was offended on set and walked out, I hope they see that, and that's it. It was kinda taken out of context," Sandler added.

His comments have come after rapper-turned-actor Vanilla Ice also defended the movie, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"It's a comedy. I don't think anybody really had any ill feeling or any intent or anything. This movie isn't 'Dances With Wolves'. It's a comedy. They're not there to showcase anything about anybody - they're just making a funny movie, I think. I don't have anything to do with it. I just play my part," Ice had said.
