Puttur: Vaishnav wins 3 medals at Junior National Aquatic C'ship

Puttur, Jul 20: The-17-year-old swimmer, Vaishnav Hegde who is coached by an internationally trained swimming coach Partha Varanashi at Balavana Swimming pool has once again made Puttur proud by winning three medals at 42 Junior Nationals Aquatic championship held in Pune from July 3 to 19.

Vaishnav won two silver medals in 50 metres breast stroke (by clocking 30.5 seconds) and in 4× 100 metres medley relay. He also won a bronze medal in 100 metres breast stroke. Apart from Partha Varanashi, Vaishnav is also coached by Vasanth Kumar and Niroop GR.

Vaishnav is a member of Puttur Aquatic club and is a student of second PUC (commerce) at St Philomena College, Puttur. He is the son of Dr Ajith Hegde and Prathima Hegde.
