Co-accused in land grabbing case gets bail


New Delhi, July 21 (IANS): A court on Tuesday granted bail to a man who was arrested in connection with a land grabbing case slapped against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Manoj Kumar.

Additional Sessions Judge Raghubir Singh granted bail to Lakhpat Singh on furnishing of a personal bond of Rs.50,000 and a surety of like amount.

The court directed him not to meddle with evidence or influence witnesses and not to leave the national capital.

Lakhpat Singh sought bail on the ground of parity as Manoj Kumar was let off on bail on Monday.

Lakhpat Singh was arrested on July 10 while Manoj Kumar, who represents Kondli constituency in east Delhi, was arrested a day earlier on charges of land grabbing and cheating. The legislator says he is innocent.
