Kasargod, Jul 22: In an incident which goes to show the extent to which people have compromised on their humane qualities, a person killed his three-year-old son at his residence at Panathadi Mailati in the district by smothering him.

The victim in this case is Rahulraj (3). The child's father, Raju, was arrested by police personnel of Rajapuram station, relating to this incident.

The murder occurred on the night of Tuesday July 21. Reportedly, the anger of the father was fuelled by a family quarrel. The accused, who was heavily drunk when he reached home on Monday night, thrashed both his wife, Padmini, and son, Rahulraj. He fought with his wife thereafter, and in a fit of anger, dragged the child outside his home and smothered him to death.

The neighbours, who came rushing after hearing the wails of the distraught mother, rushed Rahul, who was in critical condition, to a nearby hospital. However, the child could not be saved.

The mortal remains of Rahulraj have been preserved at the mortuary of Kanhangad district hospital. Rajapuram poilce have undertaken detailed investigation into this incident.

Alcohol is the worst, drunken stage people don’t know what they are doing or talking. Some after they don’t know what happened. Wives and children suffer with them,
So if you love your daughters, please don’t give in marriage to alcoholic person, and don’t make them to live life in hell. (No peace, happiness, joy, no finance in depth, lead girls to work and provide all needs)after regret no use

Excise department brings in plenty of revenue to the government exchequer in crores of rupees from the selling of liquor. Unfortunately, father of this boy couldn’t comprehend the consequences of his act because of being under the influence of liquor. We are now failing to understand whom to hold responsible for this ghastly act - liquor or the liquor induced father…..

@netizen Bangalore/Dubai,dear,of course what he has done is condemnable, makes one speachless.when one punish him with sharia law,is also that child wont comeback. He has done it with alcohol.when alcohol takes over the Charge over human, that makes no difference whether it is own child ,own blood or wife, parents.we see everynow and then this Drama.Nextday when alcohol Pegel comesdown they truely feel sorry and realize what has happened.Thats why better take them to doctor and make a therapy, instead of sharia to speak .May the Soul of the child be with angels.

I am so sorry to read that. It is shocking and beyond my imaginations that human beings can do this. In this case the own father. Killing an innocent three-year old child is incomprehensible.
