Mahesh (40), son of Venkappaiah Bhat from Arkeccharu in Idkidu village near Vittal, was employed in a foreign country till sometime back. He lost his job and returned to his village recently. His wife too got divorced from him.

Mahesh, it is said, was very much upset at the fact that nothing was going right in his life. On Monday July 20, he tried to end his life by consuming insecticide that had been brought and kept at home for being sprayed in the plantation. He was hospitalized, and breathed his last on Tuesday.

He had expressed the desire that his organs should be donated after his demise. However, this wish could not be met as he died due to consumption of insecticide. The family therefore donated the body to K S Hegde Hospital at Deralakatte for medical research.
