Trains halted in Haryana after explosives found on tracks


Chandigarh, July 22 (IANS): A few trains were halted by authorities in Haryana's Shahbad town on Wednesday after some explosive material was found near the railway tracks, police said.

The explosive material was found by some people who informed the police.

Local authorities sought the help of bomb experts from the army. The material was removed from the tracks.

The affected trains included Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi, Delhi-Amritsar Express, Shan-e-Punjab and other local passenger trains.

Railway traffic on the route was restored later.

"The matter is being investigated. We are looking at various angles," a police official said.
