20 AAP protesters held in Delhi

New Delhi, July 22 (IANS): Delhi Police has arrested 20 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters protesting here against "police inaction" in the Meenakshi murder case, police said on Wednesday.

"We arrested 20 Aam Aadmi Party supporters on Tuesday night in central Delhi's Anand Parbat area on charges of rioting and creating hurdles for government officials," Joint Commissioner of Police, Mukesh Kumar Meena, told IANS.

Meenakshi, a 19-year-old Class 11 student, was repeatedly stabbed allegedly by two neighbours after she objected to their verbal abuse on July 16.

The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the case and also sought a report from Delhi Police.
