Richa Chadda's Masaan all set to fly high as Bollywood showers praise

Mumbai, Jul 22: Actress Richa Chadda who was moved to tears due to the standing ovation that her film Masaan received when screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May, seems poised to become a national favourite if the accolades, courtesy various Bollywood stars is anything to go by.

The special screening of the movie, was attended by, Rajkumar Rao, Kalki Koechlin, Radhika Apte and Shabnana Azmi. Directed by Neeraj Ghewan, the movie has already received two awards at the Cannes Film Festival - FIPRESCI, International Jury of Film Critics prize and the Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section.

Kalki tweeted her response to the movie, stating, "First love, innocence, heartbeats, earnestness, give and take, pain, loss, life, death, rebirth and continuous hope #Masaan," while Rajkumar Rao wrote, "OUTSTANDING! Top notch in every dept. Take a bow @ghaywan U've made a truly special film.@CastingChhabra @avinasharun20 hats off guys.#Masaan." 

Shirish Kunder too seemed quite taken with the movie and the lead actress's work in it. He wrote "Special mention to @RichaChadha_ for her performance in #Masaan. Great work!" Gulshan Devaiah urger people to watch it, "#Masaan is a well made, well shot, well acted film with a very moving story. Catch it this Friday the 24th of July at a cinema near you." While, Radhika Apte shared her views, "@RichaChadha_ steals the show in #Masaan how subtle controlled and intense. Way to go! @battatawada you were a delight. Big love."

It remains to be seen if the audiences echo the sentiments of the stars, when the movie releases this Friday.
