AAP leaders meet Delhi Police chief over Pandey case

New Delhi, Jul 23 (IANS): AAP leaders on Wednesday met Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi over party member Dilip Pandey's complaint that a police bus tried to run him over in front of the Rajinder Nagar police station.

Pandey was in the Aam Aadmi Party delegation that included Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Kumar Vishwas.

"Dilip Pandey shared detailed information about yesterday's (Tuesday's) incident with the police commissioner. The video footage regarding the incident was also submitted to him," AAP leader Sanjay Singh said after the meeting.

"He assured us of a fair investigation and speedy action into the matter," he said, adding that the members put forth all facts before the police chief.

"Nothing would be more unfortunate, if still there is no action taken. We want to see whether he abides by his yesterday's 'Satyamev Jayate' commitment in this matter."

Earlier on Wednesday, the AAP leaders also met Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, who promised action over the allegation.

"Lt. Governor Jung has promised action after we had shared a CD and other evidence with him," Singh said.
