These were the dynamic components of the 5th Annual Family Social successfully organized by the Mangalorean Association of Canada on May 12, 2007 at the Grand Taj Banquet and Convention Center, Mississauga.  The 5th anniversary of the Family Social was an exceptional achievement with a fusion of activities, music and games for the young and old.

The guests and sponsors were warmly greeted by MAC members and escorted to their respective tables.   Ivan D’Lima, emcee for the event, welcomed the guests and set a comfortable ambience for the evening.  MAC was privileged to welcome and host an illustrious guest from India, Rev Guruji Joe Mary M. Lobo, founder of the Sri Christa Sharan Social Development Society, a charitable institution.  Emulating a popular show, The Mangalore an Association of Canada organized “Dancing like the Stars”, a dance competition for couples 16 years and older.  Three categories were chosen – Waltz, Cha Cha Cha and the Jive.  With an unparalleled enthusiasm and an overwhelming response, the competition was an unqualified success.   The winners of each category were applauded for their fine performances and sportsmanship.

Dinner was a spectacular buffet of salads, vegetables and meat created to please all kinds of palates. Pave Connections, the band and DJ for the evening, entertained the guests with hip-swinging music and songs that evoked nostalgic memories. Maxim D’Mello, President of MAC, appreciated and thanked all the guests for participating in the social. MAC expresses its gratitude to the selfless generosity of the sponsors and the guests who attended the Family Social and ensured its overwhelming success. MAC acknowledges and applauds the support, commitment and dedication of all its members and volunteers who worked hard to organize an event of this magnitude.
