25 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, July 23 (IANS): At least 25 Taliban militants were killed and 22 others injured in Afghanistan, the interior ministry said in a statement here on Thursday.

"Taliban militants raided security checkpoints in Musa Qala and Kajaki districts last night (Wednesday) which triggered gun battles and left 25 attacking insurgents dead and another 22 injured," Xinhua news agency reported quoting the ministry's statement.

However, the statement did not say whether the security personnel suffered casualties.
