4 Egyptian soldiers killed in blast


Cairo, July 23 (IANS): Four Egyptian soldiers were killed and three others injured when a roadside bomb struck their vehicle on Thursday in North Sinai province, a military spokesperson said.

The incident took place when an armoured vehicle was passing the area during an army raid in Rafah town, the spokesperson was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

The Egyptian army has been fighting rising insurgency operating from the Sinai Peninsula.
