Headmaster stabs teacher in Bengal school, arrested


Kolkata, July 23 (IANS): A school headmaster was on Thursday arrested after he stabbed an assistant teacher following an altercation inside the school in West Bengal's Hooghly district, police said.

Rajamohan Sil, headmaster of Pandua Uttarakhanda Primary School, was taken into custody after he attacked assistant teacher Sukhlal Mandi, police superintendent Pravin Tripathy told IANS over phone.

Tripathy said there were some problems in the school recently over allegations of irregularities concerning mid-day meal.

Some other teachers had an altercation with Sil, who got hold of a kitchen knife and stabbed Mandi.

"Sil is in custody. Mandi was taken to the Pandua rural hospital with some minor injury," he said.
