Argentine court revokes arrest warrant for Bieber

Buenos Aires, July 23 (IANS/EFE): An appeals court in Argentina has cancelled an international arrest warrant issued for Justin Bieber in connection with an alleged assault by the pop superstar's bodyguards, judicial sources said.

The warrant was revoked on July 16, the sources told EFE.

The incident occurred during the Canadian singer's 2013 concert tour of Argentina.

In the early hours of November 9, 2013, according to the allegation, Bieber ordered his two bodyguards to assault a photographer outside a disco in Buenos Aires, leaving the victim with injuries to his left arm.

The 21-year-old singer ignored a subpoena to testify in the case, prompting a magistrate to issue an international request for his arrest.

Though the warrant has been revoked, Bieber and his two bodyguards continue to face charges.

Bieber won few friends with his behaviour in Argentina. He used an Argentine flag to wipe the floor of the stage during the first of two scheduled shows in the capital and then halted the second concert just minutes into the performance, complaining of stomach pain.
