Two held in Delhi for molesting minor girls

New Delhi, July 23 (IANS): A 32-year-old van driver and his helper were arrested here for allegedly molesting two four-year-old girls whom they used to ferry from their homes to school and back, Delhi Police said on Thursday.

Driver Charanjeet Singh and his helper Kulwinder Singh, 30, used to molest the children in their running vehicle.

"The case was reported on Tuesday after the parents of one of the girls noticed some change in the behaviour of their daughter. They enquired and came to know about the shocking incident," said a police officer.

"The accused used to kiss and touches the private parts of the girls," a police officer said on condition of anonymity.

The accused, residents of west Delhi's Tilak Nagar, were arrested from the area hours after the complaint.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pushpendra Kumar said the suspects might have involved in more such cases in the past. "The involvement of the accused in other such cases is being verified," Kumar said.

Police said the girls were from west Delhi's Rajauri Garden and studying at a school in the area.

The girls' parents hired the van around two months ago to ferry their children to the school and bring them to home.
