Noida, May 25: A man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly fired at his colleague in a Noida call centre in a bout of jealousy, police said.
Karanjeet Singh allegedly opened fire at Amin Alam in the cafeteria of the HCL call centre in Sector 59 at around 5:45 pm. He was arrested with a pistol and some live cartridges.
Alam, who received bullet injuries on his shoulder, was immediately rushed to the nearby Fortis Hospital, where his condition was said to be critical.
According to police, Karanjeet possibly fired at Alam as the latter made repeated attempts to persuade the former's fiancée for intimate relations.
The three of them work as senior customer care executives in the same office.
"During interrogations, Karanjeet revealed that he had brought the weapon from Agra to kill Alam. We are further ascertaining the case," senior superintendent of police A Satish Ganesh said.
