154 passport applications rejected in DK during five months

Mangaluru, Jul 24: State home minister, K J George, gave the information that during the current year, 13,150 passport applications had been received during the first five months from January to May from Dakshina Kannada (DK) district. He added that 12,966 among them were recommended for issuance of passports, while 154 were rejected.

He gave this information in reply to a query raised by MLC,Ivan D'Souza. The minister also added that 56,182 applications for passports were received between January 2014 and May 2015 in the district, and that 691 applications had been received, while the remaining 55,491 applications had been recommended for consideration.
