Telangana clears multi-level flyovers for Hyderabad


Hyderabad, July 24 (IANS): The Telangana government on Friday accorded administrative approval for construction of multi-level flyovers and junctions in Hyderabad at a cost of Rs.2,631 crore.

Under the first phase of Strategic Road Development Programme, the multi-level flyovers and junctions will be constructed at 20 places in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area.

The municipal administration and urban development department on Friday issued orders for the 20 projects under DBMT-Annuity mode of procurement under PPP.

The tenders will be called and the process will be completed within a month and the entire project in two and a half years.

The department issued the orders after examining the recommendations of a high-level committee constituted to coordinate the project.

According to the orders, the project will be taken up with EPC tenders with deferred annuity payments. The concession period of the project shall be 10 years after completion of the project/module and payment will be 20 equal semi-annual installments. The semi-annuity payments shall be funded by GMHC's internal resources.

In a move to decongest the city, the state government has formulated SRDP comprising of skyways, grade separators, flyovers, major corridors and major roads.
