Mangaluru, Jul 24: Most awaited Kannada children's movie 'Kanasu Kannu Teredaga', directed by debutant Santhosh Shetty Kateel and produced by Ganasiri Kiran Kumar (Ganasiri Creations) and Thammana Shetty (Manikya Combines), released in 40 theatres across the state on Thursday July 24.

Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union president Jaganath Shetty Bala symbolically inaugurated the movie at Suchitra film theatre by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the gathering, Jaganath Bala said, "There are several talents blooming from the coastal district and contributing to the film industry. This is good development for the district. The films which are produced are also of good quality and challenging. I wish all success to the film."

Director Santhosh Kumar said, "This is good qualitaty film made with limited budget. I congratulate the team on their immense effort."

Film producer Thammana Shetty also spoke on this occasion.

Producer Ganasiri Kiran Kumar, Ravi Shankar, owner of Jyothi theatre, Jayashankar, Ravichandra and Prashant Kamath were present.

'Kanasu Kannu Teredaga' is one of the best children's movie in recent times, one that throws light on social issues like gap between the children of the rich and the poor, between those who study in private and those in government schools. There is also a good message conveyed on how the rich exploit the poor for their vested interests.

The film also clearly highlights the strong friendship between two friends that transcends the barrier between the rich and the poor. The 2:15 hour-long movie completely engages the audience.

Moreover, the children who acted in this movie completely involved themselves in the characters assigned to them and there is feel of reality in the movie. The background music, lyrics and cinematography are also excellent.

Importantly, the movie carries a social message on cleanliness and how human beings are the responsible for the untidiness in their surroundings, and how a strong revolution by children can bring the change.

This is Santhosh Kumar Kateel first movie as director. Assistant director of the film is Nagesh Puttur; the cinematography is by Sachin S Shetty, lyrics by Razak Puttur, music by Yashwanth Udupi, and background score by Nithin Kumar. Pradeep Roy is the art director, while Raviraj Ganiga is the design and creative head.
