State Council meet of AAP's UP unit on July 26-27

Lucknow, July 24 (IANS): A meeting of the Uttar Pradesh state executive of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be held here on July 26-27, a party spokesman said on Friday.

The meeting will be presided over by senior party leader and AAP's national spokesman Sanjay Singh.

The two-day meet, the party's state spokesman Vaibhav Maheshwari told IANS, will be attended by AAP leaders from across Uttar Pradesh districts.

The meet will take stock of the party's reach to the grassroot level and fix the major points of the agenda for the state unit for the near future.

Maheshwari also said though there was no decision as yet on contesting the 2017 state assembly polls, the party was being prepared for all possibilities.

"The lawlessness and corruption in Uttar Pradesh are our major concerns as we take the voice of the people to a stage where it can be heard," he said.

He also said that after its success in Delhi, the party is focussing on a repeat of its performance. Uttar Pradesh was a major state being eyed by its national leadership.

"The party workers meanwhile have fanned out in various villages and districts where they are discussing core issues with the people, which would later be assimilated in the vision document for the party unit in Uttar Pradesh," Maheshwari added.
