Kasargod: Police arrest man wanted for thefts in two states

Kasargod, Jul 25: Police have arrested a man wanted in more than 10 cases including the theft of vehicles and robberies. The arrested person has been identified as Uduma resident Shanu alias
Ramzan (20). Police said that he is wanted in several theft cases in Kerala and Karnataka.

He is said to be involved in several vehicle thefts in Sullia, Ullal, Bekala, and Kasargod also. Ramzan was trying to escape after the theft of a Scorpio vehicle at Chemnad on July 11. The police said that Ramzan did not stop the vehicle even after they signaled him to stop but left it a kilometer away before fleeing. He is said to have confessed to this during police questioning.

He is also accused of snatching a gold chain from the neck of a woman within Bekal police station limits. The police made the arrest while investigating a vehicle theft in Kasargod.
