Argentinean MP praised after 'brelfie' in parliament

London, July 25 (IANS): A photo of an Argentinean politician breastfeeding her infant daughter during a parliamentary meeting has won accolades on the social media.

Member of Parliament Victoria Donda Perez was clicked while feeding her eight-month-old daughter during an Argentine National Congress meeting in the Congressional Palace in Buenos Aires, the Independent reported on Friday.

The incident made her a role model for every woman in the world by showing what a full time working mother looks like -- balancing a demanding full time job and childcare at the same time.

The incident is also a boost to the campaign, known as 'brelfies', of breastfeeding mothers to be allowed to do it in public without fear of reprisals.

The campaign took off on social media earlier this year.

Breastfeeding in public has become a hot topic recently after a number of women reported being treated poorly by security when breastfeeding in public.

Earlier this month, a woman in Britain was removed from a clothing store by a security guard after she fed her nine-month-old daughter in a corner of the store.

In another case, a cafe owner in Australia was praised after she threw out a customer who complained about a woman feeding her child in the cafe.
