Mumbai, Jul 26: Emraan Hashmi seems to have traded in his screen scorching kisses for batting the Indian Cricket team to many a successful match as he starts shooting for Azhar which is the story of the life of former Indian cricket team captain Mohammed Azharuddin.

To mark the beginning of this venture, Emraan tweeted, “We begin Azhar’s journey…..wish us luck.” The movie will be directed by Tony D'souza and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures alongside MSM Motion Pictures. Azharuddin was a popular and well-loved player for a long time, till he was caught up in a match fixing scandal in 2000.

Soon after that he was banned from playing and has since hung up his gloves and batting pads. Even though the ban was lifted in 2012 by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Azhar has not walked onto another cricket pitch along with the boys in blue.
