Anjali plays cameo in director 'Taramani'

Chennai, July 27 (IANS): Actress Anjali has played a cameo in filmmaker Ramsubramaniam's "Taramani", which features debutant Vasanth Ravi and singer-turned-actress Andrea Jeremiah in the lead.

"It was at the personal request of direct Ram that I accepted this offer. It's a role quite contrary to anything I've done lately," Anjali told IANS.

Anjali had previously worked with Ram in his critically acclaimed directorial debut "Kattradhu Thamizh".

Said to be a moody urban romantic saga, "Taramani" is jointly produced by Ram and JSK Sathish.

The film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is currently in its post-production phase.

Meanwhile, Anjali is looking forward to the forthcoming release of Tamil comedy "Sakalakalavallavan".

"It's a fun film. In the beginning of my career, I experimented a lot with offbeat films. I'm more interested in commercial films now because I'm keen to strike a perfect balance," she said.
