Mangaluru, Jul 27: In an alleged attempt to murder, two youths were attacked by two persons at Alake here late evening on Monday July 27.
Inderjit and Lathish were allegedly attacked by two persons who came in a Maruti 800 car. The duo attacked them with sharp weapons before speeding away in the car.
Sources said that in a bid to escape, the assaulters rammed their car into three other vehicles. Also, when they reached Mannagudda, the car developed a technical snag and stopped. They then stopped a bike rider, pushed him away and escaped with his bike in a filmy style, sources said.
The assault is suspected to have resulted out of gang rivalry.
Sources said one of the assaulters was Ravichandra alias Vicky Poojary of Kodikal, a rowdy sheeter.
It is also learnt that Lathish, the victim, is also a rowdy sheeter, and is a part of gang from Barke.
The injured have been admitted to a private hospital.
It is learnt that swords wrapped in cloth were recovered from the car they left behind.
Kadri police are investigating.
