Mumbai, July 29 (IANS): A benchmark index for Indian equities, the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), on Wednesday opened higher and was trading at 27,493.62 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading higher at 8,349.05 points with a gain of 12.05 points or 0.14 percent.
The 30-share Sensex opened at 27,556 points against the previous close at 27,540.46 points. At 11.30 a.m. it was ruling at 27,493.62 points with a gain of 34.39 points or 0.13 percent.
