Bihar to name college, science city after Kalam

Patna, July 30 (IANS): The Bihar cabinet on Thursday approved a proposal to name Kishanganj Agriculture College and the proposed science city in Patna after late former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, officials said.

"This decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar," Cabinet Coordination Department Principal Secretary Shishir Kumar Sinha said.

Sinha said the agriculture college will be known as Dr Kalam Agriculture College, Kishanganj, and the science city as Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Science City.

Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said Kalam was always concerned about Bihar's development, especially the rural areas, adding, "Bihar was close to Kalam's heart."
