Chinese shares open lower on Friday

Beijing, Jul 31 (IANS): Chinese stocks opened lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.35 percent to open at 3,655.67 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 1.35 percent lower at 12,228.41 points, reported Xinhua news agency.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 2.11 percent lower at 2,507.26 points.
