JU, Genpact to develop analytics programme


Kolkata, July 31 (IANS): Jadavpur University (JU) here has inked an agreement with Genpact Limited, a global leader in designing, transforming, and running intelligent business operations to develop an analytics and research programme, it was announced on Friday.

"With this MoU, the two organisations will work together to develop an analytics and research programme. This programme will be offered in the Masters in Economics course run by the university," said a JU statement.

The programme will provide students with direct exposure to risk management and financial services analytics applications, which will be imparted through guest lectures and workshops conducted by Genpact's subject matter experts and training partners.

The course aims to provide both theoretical and practical experience in analytics as applied in different industries. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will become eligible for employment in the risk analytics practice at Genpact.

Jadavpur University vice-chancellor Suranjan Das said: "There is a need for coordination between the industry and academia for bolstering research and innovation. This is a very positive step in tapping the vast human capital and in creating a pool of industry-ready talent.

"lt will also address the demand-supply gap in the analytics sector."
