Sex scandal accused gained from CM's influence: Congress

Bhopal, July 31 (IANS): The Congress here on Friday alleged that a 2012 sex scandal accused turned government approver using his links with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Congress spokesperson K.K. Mishra told media persons here that Manoj Nema, an accused in the 2012 Chandori sex scandal for which a case was registered in Varasivani police station, was facilitated as he was a friend of a relative of Chouhan.

The racket was allegedly run by a Chandori-based man and his wife and the gang, which included several police personnel posted in the area, made CDs of their customers and blackmailed them.

"Police summoned Nema many times but all in vain. He managed to turn approver using the influence of his friend Sanjay Singh, brother-in-law of the chief minister," Mishra said.
