Police officer injured in Kashmir guerrilla attack


Srinagar, July 31 (IANS): A Jammu and Kashmir Police official was injured on Friday as guerrillas fired on a police checkpost post on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway, police said.

"Militants fired at a police 'Naka' (checkpost) at Mirgund on the highway today (Friday) evening," a senior police officer told IANS.

"Sub Inspector Saleem, incharge of Mirgund police post, was injured in the attack," he said, adding reinforcements have been sent to the spot.
