Mangalore: Stars Add Glamour to Election Campaign

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (KD/AF)

Mangalore, May 31: As the election drama heats up, Sandalwood stars are also putting their best foot forward to woo the public in to voting for their candidates.

On Wednesday May 30 at the campaign for Congress candidate U T Khader at Thokkutu near here, it was the turn of actor-turned-MP Ambarish to acknowledge the public’s role in bringing him to the top. He also expressed his gratitude to the Congress party.

‘U T Khader worked for the betterment of Ullal even during his father’s illness. No other leader has served Ullal better than Khader.’ He appealed to the people not to listen to the words of opposition parties. ‘If your conscious says Khader is the best candidate for Ullal cast your votes for him,’ he said.

Actress Umashree too was present as a moral support to the Congress cause.

Meanwhile in Ullal, the epicenter of the elections, three actresses chipped in their bit. While Tara and Anu Prabhakar went on door-to-door campaigning for JD(S), people flocked near them capturing the actresses on their cameras and mobile phones. Some even failed to recognize them but once they were introduced, they were welcomed heartily.

Actress Jayanti too joined them later after the arrival of chief minister Kumaraswamy. They interacted with the local vendors and fishermen, however, other than a simple appeal to vote for JD(S) the actresses did not have much to say.

The stars not only added a touch of glamour to the election drama, but also left everyone dazed!
