10 dead in Nigeria road accident


Lagos, Aug 1 (IANS): At least 10 people died in a road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogun State, Nigeria's road commission said.

The accident, which happemned on Friday, involved two trucks and two commercial vehicles, Xinhua reported quoting state commander for the federal road safety commission (FRSC) Adegoke Adetunji.

Nigeria records high fatality rates for road accidents mainly due to shoddy highways, poorly maintained vehicles and inept drivers violating traffic rules.
