Youth Congress protest outside Pakistan High Commission

New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS): The Delhi Youth Congress on Saturday staged a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission here over the Gurdaspur terror attack and Pakistani scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan's derogatory remark about late former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Over 500 Youth Congress workers assembled outside the Pakistan High Commission and demanded an apology from the Pakistan government for the derogatory remark made by Khan.

"We also staged the protest against the recent terror strike in Gurdaspur, Punjab and continuous ceasefire violations," said Delhi Youth Congress president Amit Malik.

He warned Pakistan that if it did not change its ways, it would have to suffer the consequences it faced in Kargil (in 1999).

A few of the protesters were detained in south Delhi's Chanakyapuri police station and later released.
