Bihar bans six noodle brands

Patna, Aug 1 (IANS): The Bihar government on Saturday banned the sale of six brands of noodles for one month across the state, an official said.

"The state government has banned six products of noodles after results of the tested samples collected in Bihar revealed that they were not fit for consumption and in violation of the food safety act," Food safety department official Anand Kishore told the media here.

Kishore said the six brands of noodles include that of Hindustan Lever, TCS, Nestle and Glaxo companies.

Two months ago Bihar had banned only Maggi brand of Nestle for one month after an allegedly high amount of lead and monosodium glutamate was found in samples.
