Daijiworld Media Network-Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Aug 2: Chief minister Siddaramaiah has allotted industries and commerce portfolio to senior leader R V Deshpande on Saturday, August 1 in a minor cabinet reshuffle. Deshpande was the minister for higher education and tourism.

Governor Vajubhai Vala has issued a notification in this regard.

The chief minister has taken back the higher education portfolio from Deshpande and has kept it with himself. In addition to the new portfolio of industries and commerce, the previous portfolio of tourism will be managed by Deshpande. The Industries portfolio was with the chief minister till date.

Sources in the government said that Deshpande was not very happy with the higher education portfolio. He had requested the chief minister to give him industries and commerce. It should be remembered that he had served as industries minister for about 10 years in the past.

Sources also said that the government's recent decision to organise global investors' meet (GIM) in Bengaluru in November has prompted the chief minister to allot industries portfolio to Deshpande. Preparations for the meet have already begun. The chief minister was also overburdened with the industries portfolio managing himself so far in addition to finance, DPAR and Bengaluru development.

Siddanna is making a dangerous mistake by sidelining young and dynamic leaders within the govt.

I think it is high time, under performers like Deshpande, Kamrul Islam etc. were sent back home in the interest of our beloved Karnataka.

Why Deshpande is also holding Tourism Ministry? What he knows about Tourism? Again why CM is holding additional Finance & Higher Education Ministries? Don't we have efficient MLAs who can handle these Ministries?

Deshpande may be industry friendly. But his hands are not clean.
He has not done anything to develop his own Halyal & Joida Taluk bordering Goa even a bit.
It is the only Taluk in entire Karnataka which is still in 1930 condition regarding all infrastructure and living conditions of the people. Every thing is primitive there. There are many villages which have no electricity, roads or drinking water facility or Telephones, leave aside internet.
Deshpande being Tourism Minister also, he can show-case this primitive condition of Joida Taluk and he can invite foreign tourists to see how Indian Taluka towns were looking before 1930.

    People,

Deshpande is most corrupt and richest minister in Siddu's cabinet...he has seen all the parties and enjoyed power in all of them...
He thinks by wearing white spotless clothes and sitting next to Siddu in assembly makes him clean and smart...
