Snoop Dogg stopped at Italian airport

Rome, Aug 2 (IANS): Italian Police stopped American rapper Snoop Dogg at the Lamezia Terme airport for trying to board a plane with over $422,000 undeclared cash.

The rapper was about to board a private plane for Britain, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The "Drop it like it's hot" singer had performed two shows in the south of Italy and was on his way to Britain, where he is slated to take to stage at the Kendal Calling Festival.

During a security check before the rapper boarded his private jet, police saw two bags full of cash, totalling $422,000 (384,000 euros).

Under Italian anti-money laundering laws, the maximum amount of cash travellers can take on board a plane is 10,000 euros ($11,000). As a result, half of Snoop's cash in his Louis Vuitton luggage was taken by authorities until the amount of the fine is determined.
