Three women pilgrims killed in Bihar

Patna, Aug 2 (IANS): Three women pilgrims were killed and four others were injured on Sunday in a road accident in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, police said.

The three 'kanwarias' were crushed to death by a speeding truck at Phakuli Chowk, about 70 km from here. The pilgrims were going to the Garibnath temple in Muzaffarpur from neighbouring Vaishali district.

Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Ranjit Kumar Mishra ordered the suspension of a senior police officer after witnesses protested on the streets, blaming the police for the accident.
