Speeding b'day boy, girlfriend killed in mishap

Bengaluru, Aug 03, DHNS: A speeding biker high on birthday hues was killed along with his girlfriend, who was riding pillion, when he lost control of his vehicle and jumped a road median on the Kempegowda International Airport Road on Saturday morning.

Tahir Ahmed, 22, a resident of Jayanagar and employed in a leading multinational IT company, and Lata, 22, of Shanthi Nagar, were returning to the City after celebrating his birthday at Nandi Hills. The accident took place near Decathlon Sports Complex, off Chikkajala, around 9:40 am, the police said.

Around 6 am on Saturday, Ahmed, Lata and their five friends left for the Nandi Hills to celebrate Ahmed’s birthday. They reached the hill at about 8 am and celebrated the birthday.

Around 9:40 am, while they were returning home, Ahmed was reportedly speeding. He lost control of the vehicle and hit the median. The bike and its riders fell over to the other side of the road. A speeding car rammed Ahmed and Lata. Both suffered serious head injuries.

Passers-by informed the police, who rushed Ahmed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Lata was taken to Nimhans. She did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to her injuries.

“It was Ahmed’s fault as he was over-speeding. He jumped the median after he lost control over the bike. It is a fast-track road which goes towards the Kempegowda International Airport and the vehicles ply at top speed. The driver of the car could not control his vehicle as the bike came in his way unexpectedly. Due to the impact of the collision, the couple suffered head injuries,” a senior police officer said.

Their friends said they were riding their bikes and were way ahead. They heard a loud noise and when they went back, they realised that their friends had met with an accident, added the officer. A case has been registered in Chikkajala Traffic police station.

Ahmed and Lata decided to marry and elders of the two families had given consent for the wedding, said the police.

Ahmed has an elder brother for whom his family members were searching a girl. The elders had decided to conduct the weddings of Ahmed and his brother together, added the police.

Ahmed’s birthday was on July 31 and he went to Lata’s house on Friday night, a day before his birthday, said the police.

Never show mercy for them. If parents were poor then he would not have had bike. Good they didnt kill anybody who is walking on road. These type of attitude will continue. So better they die for their own fault.

    R.I.P to both.
He met with an accident because of over speeding but his friends in other bikes were way ahead of him and came back. Imagine their speed.
Requesting all young two wheeler riders to be cautious because your life as well as those who suffer because of your negligence are very precious.

Some hidden story here. I don't think they will go all the way till Nandi hills to be there for just an hour or 2. That also celebrating the birthday... any ways, what a tragedy. All bike riders, a lesson for you. Please be careful... any time, any where tragedy may stuck you if you fly on your bike...

Usually accidents are taking place because of high speed. Therefore riders are responsible for this.
