Mangaluru: Activities aplenty as Ladyhill School celebrates golden jubilee year

Mangaluru, Aug 4: There is a festive mood at Ladyhill English Higher Primary School, as it celebrates its 'Golden Year' during 2015-16. On account of its golden jubilee celebrations, the school has been organizing special events right from December 2015 onwards.

Community outreach programme was organized under the leadership of Satish D’Souza, a parent, during the month of December.

January was dedicated to the grandparents of the Ladyhill school students, which was effectively organized by Rajeshwari.

Parents sports day was organized in February, with Cyril Fernandes and Vilma Cutinho as the coordinators

A self-employment training programme was organized by Susan Wartika, a parent, in June.

July was dedicated to 'Aati Food Fest', celebrated on July 25. This food fest was inaugurated by Fr Prakash Menezes, along with joint secretary Sr Celine Veera, Headmistress Sr Letitia, Rajesh Shetty, the PTA president, Rajeshwari, the vice-president, Renilda Mascarenhas, the co-ordinator and Snehal Lobo, the SPL of the school.

The main attraction of this Food Fest was 'Aati - Kalenja' enacted by Cletus Lobo, a parent, and Amisha, a student. Master of ceremonies Cyril Fernandes added an extra spark to the Food Fest.

The menu of the Food Fest was prepared with the co-operation of the PTA executive members and food committee guided by chef Anil Pinto, the proprietor of Pinto Caterers.

The cultural programme organized for this event indeed was a feast to the eyes. Parents participated wholeheartedly in the food fest and were extremely happy and appreciated the programme which turned out to be a perfect success.

    congratulation and best wishes for the golden jubilee of Ladyhill school. My daughters are studying in this school. I'm so happy because the children's are getting good education in this school and they are conducting so many activities and in that 'Aati food feast' is one of them. So once again Snehal( S.P.L), Chrisel and myself wish all the best for the school.God bless Sr. Letetia and all the teaching and non teaching staff.

    My schooling was in this school and those where the best years of my life. Proud to be a lady from ladyhill school. I remember the dedicated teachers ..we had Se.Denizia as HM in primary school and she used to tell story of Patholi..a sweet made in haldi leaf..we had ms.Renni,ms Gladys etc and in High school we had Ms.Cynthia,Ms.Aruna, MsEdda,Ms Stella,and so many others. I love my school.

    ALL the best wishes and blessings from ALMIGHTY god to my Alma mater I also was a student of this school. I think our batch with boys was the last and it became GIRLS only school. I think Satish was my schoolmate at that time. God bless him and other parents who had studied in this school in yester years.

    I am proud to be a part of this school, I did my PreKg, KG and 1st std before I was moved to Bombay.I visited the school a couple of years back to collect my school certificate.
    I would much appreciate if I could get the email address of the school so I can send my good wishes to the school authorities on completion of 50 years.

    My memories went back to my child hood time & Elementary school.
    St. Josephs (then) Elementary school, Kankanady. One of the teachers who taught me in 3rd standard still remembers me (my name) after almost 58 years. So great her memory power!

    I studied in Ladyhill upto 5th std the limit where boys were allowed. I have fond memories of the school. Sr. Letetia has taught me too. God bless her. All the best to my Alma Mater Ladyhill.
