President inaugurates 'innovation museum' at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS): A new science and innovation museum - Navachara Kaksh - was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Tuesday.

It is the first presidential residence in the world to host a science museum on its premises.

“The museum established by Rashtrapati Bhavan with assistance from Intel India will be open for visitors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays,” a statement by the president's office said.

The main attraction is a robotic dog Clumsy, designed by an award-winning school student at international science competition. The dog can perform actions like walking, squatting and has sensors that allow it to see and hear.

The museum also houses virtual tabla, string-less piano, 3-D printer, talking wall, planet wall and other scientific innovations intended to inform and encourage students on the path to discovery, the statement said.
