Naga rebels have agreed to lay down arms: Javadekar


New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS): Union minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday hailed the peace accord between the government and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-IM and said Naga rebels have agreed to lay down arms.

"The Naga rebels have agreed to lay down arms," the minister for environment, forest and climate change told media persons here.

The central government and the NSCN-Isak-Muivah on Monday signed a historic accord that promises to bring peace in the northeastern state of Nagaland ravaged by violence for over six decades
