Two Kashmir policemen injured in Udhampur attack


Jammu, Aug 7 (IANS):Two policemen were injured when guerrillas attacked a police post in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, an official said.

"Militants attacked the Sang police post under the jurisdiction of Basantgarh police station in Udhampur district at 9.15 p.m.," a police official told IANS.

Two policemen were injured, and the security personnel retaliated. Additional deployments have been rushed to the spot to hunt down the militants, the official said.

On Wednesday, two Border Security Force troopers and a terrorist were killed and 11 troopers injured when terrorists attacked a bus of the BSF at Narsu Nallah on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in the same district. A terrorist identified as Usman was overpowered by villagers and handed over to police.
