Another blast rocks Afghanistan capital


Kabul, Aug 7 (IANS): Another powerful explosion rocked the Afghan capital on Friday, officials and witnesses said. Casualties, if any, were not known immediately.

The blast took place near a police academy located in Khushal Khan district, a populated area in western Kabul, a security source told Xinhua.

The source said: "The nature of the blast looked like a car bombing. There is fear of possible casualties, both civilian and police."

A witness said: "A powerful blast shocked me. It took place at about 7:35 p.m. (local time near the police academy building."

It occured hours after another blast in Kabul left 15 civilians dead and over 240 injured.
