Indian, Chinese performers win applause in Edinburgh


Edinburgh, Aug 8 (IANS): Performers from China and India presented a spectacular show of culture and music to a 9,000-strong audience here at the "East meets West" event here.

The 90-minute performance on Friday won thunderous applause, reports Xinhua news agency.

Over 1,200 performers from China, India, Britain, the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland and Germany took part in the event, with the historic Edinburgh Castle as the backdrop.

The Edinburgh Festival is one of the largest arts festival in the world that takes place every August for three weeks in Scotland's capital.
