Udupi, Aug 10: When people talk of IT companies, the general idea that comes to mind is of a bustling Bengaluru. But here's an IT company based in Udupi which has created 1,400 mobile apps, has over 400 employees, caters to a global clientele, has won the coveted ‘Best of 2014’ award from Apple Inc for its apps and many prestigious engineering and design awards in the mobile app domain.
It is none other than Robosoft Technologies, based in Udupi.
Set up in 1996 in Udupi, as a development centre for Mac, Robosoft Technologies has grown into a global powerhouse in the mobile app space over the years. Today, Robosoft builds apps for a number of reputed global clients like ESPN, National Geographic, NDTV, Sony, Pearson and many more. It builds apps across consumer mobility, enterprise mobility and games and entertainment. Robosoft recently secured its second round of funding for $12mn from Ascent Capital and Kalaari Capital (who invested earlier in 2013).
"All this growth and expansion has posed a greater challenge," says Shylaja Rao, COO of Robosoft Technologies. "We need talented youths across domains; be it finance, legal, HR, engineering or design," she adds.
Robosoft (www.robosoftin.com) is keen to attract talents from the Gulf region too. "Those who have worked in the gulf region for years are likely to get exposed to the global ways of working and are likely to be trained in their professional sphere. We look forward to such talents," says Shylaja.
Robosoft’s Udupi office is a landmark by itself and has many facilities like a canteen, nursery, a library and much more. It is heartening to see a world class company from South Canara making its name at the global scenario.
