Key Pakistan Taliban commander surrenders

Islamabad, Aug 10 (IANS): A key Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander and 11 other militants surrendered in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on Monday.

According to sources, Razman Shah is believed to be an important TTP commander in Orakzai Agency, Dawn online reported.

The 12 TTP militants were in the security forces' wanted list due to their involvement in different terror activities.

Orakzai is one of Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous tribal regions in the northwest, where TTP and Al Qaeda-linked militants are largely based.

It was a key abode of former TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud before he was killed in a US drone strike in North Waziristan in 2013.
