Five Pakistani IS militants arrested in Afghanistan


Kabul, Aug 10 (IANS): At least five Pakistani Islamic State (IS) militants were arrested in Afghanistan, the media reported on Monday.

A statement issued by the Afghan intelligence agency, National Directorate of Security (NDS), said the militants hail from Pakistan and were involved in terrorist related activities in Nangarhar province, state-run Khaama Press reported.

The militants were identified as Abdul Rashid and Miras from Peshawar and Mohammad Ayaz, Rahmuddin and Azizullah from The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

They added that the militants were associated with Mawlawi Salim and Mullah Gul Zaman who are active IS cadres in Jalalabad city.
