AAP legislator files complaint against BJP MLA

New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS): AAP legislator Alka Lamba on Monday urged Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal to take action against BJP legislator O.P. Sharma for using "disgraceful" language against her.

"I met Swati Maliwal today (Monday) and apprised her about the matter. I have filed a complaint (against Sharma) for using disgraceful language against me," the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader told IANS after filing a complaint with the DCW.

"I am hopeful that action will be taken (on the complaint)," Lamba said.

Confirming receiving the plaint, the DCW chief told IANS: "We are looking into it."

Sharma allegedly said on Monday that "a woman who roams around from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. would definitely be influenced by drugs".

Lamba had undertaken an anti-drug drive at the Kashmere Gate area early Sunday morning. A 19-year-old employee of a sweet shop was arrested after Lamba was injured in stone-pelting.

The AAP alleged that the shop was owned by Sharma and the attack was intentional.
